Jobs, Memorials, and.......

I thought for sure I'd do better at writing these posts at least once a month since I am not a student anymore, but alas.... here I am a month and a half since my last post :)

A lot has happened in the past month or so since I wrote.  Some really hard things, some exciting, some blessings, some of all of the above!

My precious Papaw went to be with Jesus on February 23rd.  We had a memorial celebrating his life on March 2nd in Merritt Island Florida.  While our lives will never be the same without Papaw, it was a beautiful and joyous time reflecting on the wonderful life he had lived.
It was a blessing to be with all of our family from Kentucky and North Carolina, to Alabama and Oregon, we all came and really enjoyed being together.  Papaw would have liked it that way.  He always loved getting the family together, no matter how big or small the crowd, he loved family gatherings.  If you couldn't find him playing with his grandkids, he was probably in the kitchen baking rolls or cooking up some amazing dish from scratch, or maybe he'd have his hands occupied helping one of his kids fix a car or a leak or whatever the problem was.  Papaw was a man who loved deeply and showed it by the way he cared for everyone.  There will always be a hole in my heart until I get to hug him in heaven and hear him call me his "little red-head."  I love you Papaw!

Telling Papaw about dating Matt (June2008)

Sweet Mamaw & Papaw
Best Friends, True Love since June 7, 1952

(Check out Facebook for more pictures of Papaw, I had a lot more to upload, but ran into technical difficulties!)

On Wednesday, February 22nd (the day before Papaw's home-going), you could have found me in the bathroom at about 5:30 staring at these....
I was not convinced by just one test.... I had to take 3!

Matthew and I found out we are going to be PARENTS!
We're having a BABY!
Wow!
Amazing, crazy and such a huge blessing!

Psalm 127:3-5a, " Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.  Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth.  Blessed is the man fills his quiver with them!"

Thursday, March 8th I got offered a job at Building Blocks Learning Center (BBLC).  It is a preschool out of Wakefield Baptist Church.  My friend Becky told me about the opening (Thank you SO MUCH!!!).
I started the following Monday!  It has been a blessing and a joy!  I work Mon-Thurs, 9-1:30.  It is prefect with my tutoring job (which I might be getting another client soon... PTL!).

Also, sometime last week (March 11th-15th) I got a phone call from the manager at the LifeWay bookstore on campus.  You see Matt and I helped with inventory in February (we needed $$), and Mark (the manager) said that they liked the way I worked and heard through "the grapevine" that I might be looking for a job.  So, I had an interview March 16th, and was offered the job the following Monday!  I will probably start there the beginning of April!
Matt is still working at the farm and has received an email about some catering jobs.  He applied for that job MONTHS ago, before we even moved, but the lady said she lost the email or something.  Anyways, we are so blessed and so thankful for how the Lord is providing!

Three specific prayer requests:
1-Our baby will be growing healthy and strong.  That s/he will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).  That is a prayer some of my mommy friends (Jana & Amanda:)) modeled for me to pray.
2-That my sweet husband will be able to balance work, school, family, and his walk with the Lord.
He is doing excellent with keeping his priorities in the right order. I am so blessed by him, but I know it is a challenge!
3-That I will praise the Lord when I have all-day morning sickness and when I feel great.  That I will have energy to work hard for the Lord and for my family.  That I will find a new time to have Jesus time (mornings aren't working out so well right now...)

Next time, I hope Matt will be bringing an India and school update!

Thank you all for your love and prayers!
Let us know how we can pray for and support you!
