We Made It!

Matthew and I are now officially residents of Wake Forest, NC.
We have been here 2 1/2 weeks!
We packed up the U-Haul Friday January 13, with the help of wonderful family and friends!
The morning of packing the truck...yes, that is snow.

Moving Morning!

Then, Saturday January 14th, we drove 5 hours, with 4 people, in 3 vehicles, 2 Wake Forest, on 1 mission: to see Christ more glorified in our lives!  We were so blessed to have both sets of parents here with us as we made the first big move in our marriage!  The Bishop parents drove with us from Sylva and the Klinect parents drove 3 1/2 hrs from Charlotte just to help us!
We enjoyed their company, eating, laughing, lifting, setting up, organizing, driving, talking, hugging, joking, crying, exploring, etc... Their help was invaluable to us!  A whole blog could be written about how much they blessed and helped us!  It is fun growing up and being adult-ish and having your parents more like really, really good friends than anything else.  We love it!

Moving Buddies
Anyways, for now I'm just posting a few updates and things we'd appreciate your prayers for, hoping that Matt or I can share more of what God is, and has been, doing in our hearts since we got here.

-Praise the Lord- Matt got a job!  He will be working on a farm 2 days a week helping with all sorts of jobs.  I'm so thankful he get so spend some time outdoors and get paid for it!
-We are going on a missions trip to India July 20-August 2.  We'll be posting more about that soon!
-We have visited Imago Dei Church the past two Sundays. We also went to a small group last Wednesday and are planning on going again tonight.  You can check out their website here: http://idcraleigh.com/
But we are still seeking the Lord on where we are supposed to serve and be in fellowship.
-We have met a lot of neat people who love Jesus!
Matthew's first day of classes:)
-Matt started classes on the 24th and loves them!  He is taking Hermeneutics (The Art & Science of Biblical Interpretation), Missions, and Evangelism!  He is reading A TON.  I have had to learn to switch roles of being the student to now helping the student.  I am enjoying my new "position" very much!  I'm so grateful Matthew helped me so much when I was in school, but I now love being the one primarily responsible for our home, cooking, cleaning, etc....It is a joy and I hope I can continue to do so well when the Lord blesses me with a job that pays money. :)
-I am also taking a class with the Biblical Women's Institute here on campus.  It is called Ministering to Preschoolers.  We meet once a week for few hours.  My texts for the class are "Shepherding a Child's Heart" by Paul David Tripp and the Bible!  Love the class so far!

Prayer Needs (in no specific order):
-India Trip: God would being preparing our hearts even now and the hearts of those we will be able to share the Gospel with
-I still need a job!  Trusting the Lord with that and growing in my dependence on Him like never before!
-Direction on getting plugged into a church family
-Praying for friendships to develop
-Matt will be able to keep up with all the reading and projects and that he will pursue these studies primarily to know Jesus and His Word more, not just to make a good grade.
-That I will continue to learn how to come alongside and help my husband
-Pray that we can find/create avenues to reach out to the lost and share the Gospel.  We are thankful to be immersed in this seminary world, but we want to be effect for the Kingdom during our time here.
-That God would protect and grow our marriage in this new season of life

More to come soon!
Thank you so much for your prayers and faithful friendships to us!  We are blessed to have the family and friends that we do!

Please email us @ mattlaurenbishop@gmail.com with ways we can pray for you!

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion,, and authority, before all time and now and forever.  Amen.  Jude 24-25
